Over 100 Countries Gather in Berlin to Endorse Global Principles for Climate Mobility

Over 100 nations gathered in Berlin on 18–19 June 2026 for the 2nd Berlin Climate Mobility Forum, formally endorsing the Global Principles for Climate Mobility — the first UN Member State-led, rights-based framework for addressing the displacement, migration, relocation, and immobility of people due to climate impacts. Co-hosted by the Global Centre for Climate Mobility and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the Forum marked the largest international diplomatic gathering in Berlin since the turn of the century.

The Government of Fiji and the Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) have signed the first Communities Climate Adaptation Facility (C-CAF) grant at COP30, marking a major step forward for locally led climate resilience. The grant will support the Macuata-i-Wai community with safer housing, clean water access, and essential mobility infrastructure—strengthening adaptation efforts for one of Fiji’s most climate-vulnerable coastal villages.

Joint Press Release: Call for Proposals Launched to Support Climate-Affected Communities in Vanuatu

The Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) has launched a Call for Proposals in Vanuatu to fund urgent, community-led climate adaptation efforts. Through the Communities Climate Adaptation Facility (C-CAF), climate-affected communities can apply for rapid-response grants of up to 12 million Vatu. Applications are open via the UN Global Marketplace until August 5, 2025.
